Virtual Foodie Tour of Italy for Easter

Our Italian Easter cooking class is a gastronomical virtual tour of Italy which will take you around the regions of this amazing country focusing on Easter cuisine and traditions inspiring all your senses whilst learning about the local culture and enjoying a virtual ‘Salute’ and chat with friends.

We start this foodie Easter tour in the Tuscan region and work our way through Bologna and down to Puglia and then across the water to the wonderful island of Sicily.

What better way to spend your time on the lead up to Easter than travelling virtually through Italy experiencing the rich diverse flavours of the local cuisine!

You will be joining our chefs live from their home kitchen and each recipe is based around what is in season for sustainable cooking. They will start the Easter cooking class by taking you on a journey of Italy with the ingredients for each dish and explaining why and how to cook with them.

What you’ll be cooking:

  • Livia will start us off with her Zuppa Imperiale, Torta Pasqualina, Pizzicotti alle Mandorle e Limone
  • Carlo from his home in North Tuscany will be showing us how to cook Risotto ai carciofi con cremoso di capra (formaggio spalmabile tipo robiola) , Tiramisù alle fragole.
  • Pier Luigi from Bologna will be preparing Minestra Pasqualina, Corona di Pasqua
  • Carla will show us the Sicilian way with her signature Lamb dish.

This Easter cooking class is suitable for novices and enthusiasts to Italian cooking thanks to our Chef’s teaching style.

  • The history and culture behind the ingredients to impress your friends at dinner parties
  • To set your kitchen up like a chef and enjoy hours of cooking with ease

This Easter cooking class is suitable for novices and enthusiasts to Italian cooking thanks to our Chef’s teaching style.

What you’ll need:

If you are planning to cook along with our Chefs then the following equipment would be useful:

  • A wooden board
  • A rolling pin
  • A pasta cutter and/or a knife

In case you don’t have some of the items listed above, don’t worry, we can find an alternative.

Don’t forget to buy a bottle of Prosecco or wine, to have a ‘virtual Saluti’ together at Midday!

Your Chefs

Livia Giovanni has been a Flavours chef for over 15 years and has been cooking almost her life. She’s an expert in all kinds of pastas and has mastered the teaching skills required to make it easy to learn! Livia will transport you to the rolling hills of Bologna and Tuscany as she guides you through dishes such as Tortelli di Ortica and Lasagne di Zucchine.

Carlo Cioli has been a chef in Northern Tuscany for more than 25 years and incorporates the culture and traditions of his beloved Tuscany in his cooking. His pasta making skills are second to none and loves to share stories of family recipes and secrets with our guests.

Pier Luigi has been a chef since he can remember and has his own restaurant in the Emilia Romagna region, home of the foodie capital of Italy, Bologna. Pier Luigi is a true gent and our guests love to cook with him. His pappardelle with chestnuts, leeks and pork is a true favourite.

Carla Zanardi is our very own Sicilian ‘Mama’. Carla has been teaching her Sicilian delights for over 10 years with Flavours and can turn any novice into a master chef by the end of her lessons. You’ll get immersed in Sicilian culture and traditions as you cook dishes such as Polpette al limone and Caponata – so much so you’ll feel as though you were surrounded by olive groves and azure seas

Our ‘live’ classes will take place via Zoom. We’d recommend using a laptop or desktop if possible to make it easier for you to take part. Upon booking your class, you will receive an email confirmation with full details of how to join and your link to the zoom class.
