Bring the delights of Scottish cuisine to your kitchen

Scotland is known for its fresh local produce. In this Scottish cooking class, our chef Louise live from her kitchen in the north of Scotland will show you how to make the most of local produce.

As we move into the winter season, chef Louise has more of her Scottish favourites to share with you. For January Louise will guide you the preparation of her delicious roasted tomato soup with cheddar dumplings and stuffed aubergines.

As part of our winter Scottish Suppers Louise has some more of her favourite recipes to compliment this time of year. For each of these classes you be making the most of the ingredients in season in order to create a dish fit for any get together with friends and family.

For February Louise will prepare beef olives with a Scottish stuffing and Boulanger potatoes, which is a great Scottish dish for winter evenings.

For November you will be guided through the steps to prepare a Pearl Barley Risotto with Crispy Sage and Goats Cheese. We also have Pete’s Loch Lomond Biscuits, a dish inspired by Louise’s recent time spent with guests.

What you’ll learn:

  • How to make favourites such as Roasted tomato soup with cheddar dumplings
  • To prepare winter supper dishes such as olive beef
  • Tips to make the most of your kitchen set up for cooking

This Scottish cooking class is suitable for novices and enthusiasts to baking thanks to Louise’s teaching style and classic recipes.

What you’ll need:

If you are planning to cook along with Louise then the following equipment would be useful:

  • A wooden board
  • A rolling pin
  • Stirring bowls

In case you don’t have some of the items listed above, don’t worry, we can find an alternative.

Louise MacDonald is based in Highland Perthshire, she is our chef on our staycations and our guests love her traditional cooking and baking. Louise has many years of experience and her enjoyment of Seasonal Cooking for groups has led her to take it up professionally. Louise loves sharing her recipes- she uses the best of local ingredients to create delicious Scottish dishes.

Joining our live classes

Our ‘live’ classes will take place via Zoom. We’d recommend using a laptop or desktop if possible to make it easier for you to take part. Upon booking your class, you will receive an email confirmation with full details of how to join and your link to the zoom class.
