The path to a confident practice
Our Pilates Back to Basics classes are a 6 week course and are suitable for both beginners and those with some experience of Pilates who are looking to build their confidence in the practice.
The Pilates back to basics classes will set out the fundamentals of Pilates, as you build towards a stronger and more confident practice.
Your lesson schedule will be:
Lesson 1: Back to basics
Lesson 2: Variations and adaptations
Lesson 3: Pushing your practice
Lesson 4: Challenging hips and pelvic stability
Lesson 5 : Adding weights and balance
Lesson 6: Sequence
What you’ll learn:
- Review of the fundamentals of Pilates exercises created by Joseph Pilates
- Reduce back pain, improve your posture, strengthen your core
- Increase your muscle flexibility and stretch all your body
- Create your own workout based on single Pilates exercise practices
What you’ll need:
Our Pilates Instructors would advise you to wear comfortable clothing, have a mat or a towel to lie on and space to stretch out.
Catherine Crompton trained as a Pilates instructor after she used Pilates as a rehabilitation method after an injury. She values Pilates as she knows firsthand that it can help with many medical conditions including stress and anxiety. Catherine is a certified Level 3 Matwork instructor, as well as a back care professional.
Eleanor Crossland is a Level 3 Body Control Pilates teacher, focusing on the benefits of non-impact exercise to strengthen and tone the body. Ele shares her passion for Pilates with both new and experienced learners, and takes pleasure in teaching people to develop their strength, confidence and enthusiasm through workouts.
Joining our live classes
Our ‘live’ classes will take place via Zoom. We’d recommend using a laptop or desktop if possible to make it easier for you to take part. Upon booking your class, you will receive an email confirmation with full details of how to join and your link to the zoom class.
